The Pre-Nursing program has been developed to meet the needs of students interested in the medical field. The program will prepare students for initial certification as a Nursing Assistant as well as continued training in nursing and health care. Students spend time in the classroom and clinical settings learning many procedures for patient care including blood pressure, temperature, pulse and respiration, as well as learning how to bathe, groom, feed, transfer, position and exercise patients. During this time students will become familiar with anatomy, physiology, signs and symptoms and prevention of disease. A portion of the year is spent in a supervised clinical experience working with patients.

Pre-requisites: Junior/Senior Standing. Seniors will have priority placement. Successful screening by the Washington State Patrol. Must be able to provide your own transportation to clinical sites.
Sessions offered: AM 8:00 to 10:30 M-F, PM 11:30 to 2:00 M-F
Length of program: 1 year
Equivalency Credits: 0.5 Technical English 1 & 2, 0.5 English, 1.0 Lab Science, 0.5 Health (Pending)
Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per year
College credits available: 14 college credits
