Fire Fighting

For the student interested in fire fighting and other emergency service careers. The program introduces students to structural and wildland fire fighting and the emergency medical system. The program utilizes state of the art equipment and facilities including an onsite training tower and fire engine. The program developes the required teamwork, leadership, mental and physical skills to be a success in the fire service. Students have the opportunity to earn fire service certifications and college credit. Students are well prepared for additional training at the post secondary level.

Pre-Requisites: Junior/Senior Standing

 

Program uniform requirement: 2 Fire Fighting uniforms

 

Length of Program: 1 year

Sessions Offered: AM-8:00-10:30 M-F PM-11:30-2:00 M-F

 

Equivalency Credits: 0.5 Technical English, 0.5 Science, 1.0 Fitness

 

Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year

 

College Credits Available: Up to 10
