The Cosmetology program prepares students for licensing by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology. Licensing requirements consist of theory and practical application of theory. Clare’s requires a minimum of 1800 hours of instruction before a student can take the licensing examination. Instruction and practice in the program include training for shampooing, scalp and hair analysis, haircutting and trimming, removal and trim of facial hair, and thermal, wet, and dry styling.

Pre-Requisites:Junior/Senior Standing. Purchase required Cosmetology Kit. Cost TBD by cosmetology schools. Maintain adequate progress in program: passing grade and a minimum # of hours per semester. Minimum Hrs are calculated for each session. Students not meeting criteria may be exited from program. Equivalency Credits: 1.0 Lab Science, 1.0 Fine Arts

 

Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year
