Cosmetology
The Cosmetology program prepares students for licensing by the Washington State Board of Cosmetology. Licensing requirements consist of theory and practical application of theory. Clare’s requires a minimum of 1800 hours of instruction before a student can take the licensing examination. Instruction and practice in the program include training for shampooing, scalp and hair analysis, haircutting and trimming, removal and trim of facial hair, and thermal, wet, and dry styling.

Certification Opportunities: Preparation for Washington State Cosmetology exam
Pre-Requisites:Junior/Senior Standing. Purchase required Cosmetology Kit. Cost TBD by cosmetology schools. Maintain adequate progress in program: passing grade and a minimum # of hours per semester. Minimum Hrs are calculated for each session. Students not meeting criteria may be exited from program. Sessions Offered: Monday-Friday AM 8:30 to 11:30 M-F (Student’s must stay till 11:30 AM) PM 1:00 to 4:00 M-F
The school has moved to a new facility on Gage Blvd. behind the Dairy Queen on Gage Blvd.
Equivalency Credits: 1.0 Lab Science, 1.0 Fine Arts
Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year
Text Reading Levels: Texts are written at the 9.4 level
