Trades 1 & 2

This program provides a foundation in basic residential and commercial construction preparing students for a successful career in the construction industry fields of skilled craft person, construction management or engineering. Instruction includes the proper and safe use of tools, footings and foundations, metal and wood framing and roof structures, estimation of labor and materials, city and county building codes, lot development and design process and blueprint reading.

Pre-Requisites: Junior/Senior Standing, returning students must have a "C" or better their 1st year and instructor approval


Sessions Offered: AM 8:00 to 10:30 M-F, PM 11:30 to 2:00 M-F


Length of Program: 1-2 years

Equivalency Credits: 1.0 Math (for 1st year only), 0.5 Technical English 1 & 2


Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year
