Auto Systems Technology

The Automotive Systems Technology (AST) program will train you for a variety of jobs within the industry, including automotive repair, record keeping, and business management. Learn about the automotive service industry in an environment set up like an auto service department. Students service and diagnosis vehicles, maintain, complete tune-ups and conduct brake and suspension repair, and wheel alignment. Course work is taught by an ASE Certified Instructor. The course is designed as a two-year program, providing the skills and training necessary for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in brakes, suspension and steering, electrical and electronics systems, and engine performance. In preparation for advanced training in this program, students must demonstrate commitment and a professional interest in the automotive service industry. A good driving record is very important.

Pre-Requisites: Junior/Senior standing. Some mechanical experience preferred. Coveralls & safety glasses. A good driving record is required for internship placement.
