Auto Systems Technology 1 & 2

This automotive Systems Technology (AST) program will train you for a variety of jobs within the industry, including automotive service industry in an environment set up like an auto service department. Students service and diagnose vehicles, gaining experience in engine fundamentals, maintenance, tune-up and repair, brake and suspension repair, and wheel alignment. Course work is taught by and ASE Certified Technician. The course is designed as a two-year program, providing the skills and training necessary for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in brakes, suspension and steering, electrical and electronics systems, and engine performance. In preparation for advanced training in this program, students must demonstrate commitment and a professional interest in the automotive service industry. (A good driving record is very important)

Certification Opportunities: Automotive Service Excellence certification preparation / Progress towards Associates of Applied Science Degree in Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology / AYES certification


Pre-Requisites: Junior/Senior standing, returning students must have a "C" or better their 1st year and instructor approval


Sessions Offered: AM 8:00 to 10:30 M-F, PM 11:30 to 2:00 M-F


Length of Program: 1-2 years

Equivalency Credits: 0.5 Technical English 1 & 2 0.5 Math, 0.5 Science


Occupational/Elective Credits: 3 per Year


College Credits Available: 21 college credits
